Binance Continues Attracting Large Whale BTC Deposits as Price Tests September Lows
Bitcoin is trading around $75.6K–$75.9K on Sept 16 after a sharp pullback, with the Federal Reserve decision still in focus. On-chain data shows Binance remains a major destination for large BTC transfers. Recent sessions recorded multiple whale-sized deposits, including a confirmed 688 BTC transfer worth approximately $52.6M from Coinbase to Binance on Sept 15. Other transfers exceeding 1,000 BTC were also recorded during the same period, while whale transaction activity surged and net flows tilted towards exchanges. Binance’s Exchange Whale Ratio has also remained elevated, with recent readings around 0.44. This means large deposits continue to represent a meaningful share of total exchange inflows, showing that larger holders remain active around the current price weakness. However, large deposits do not automatically mean these coins are being sold. They could represent potential sell-side supply, liquidity positioning, collateral movements, or preparation for trading around the Fed decision. Earlier data showed retail inflows outpacing whale activity over a 30-day period, but the recent concentration of large transfers into Binance is still notable. The key watchpoint now is what happens after the Fed decision. Continued large inflows would increase potential sell-side liquidity on Binance, while a shift towards outflows could reduce that immediate supply pressure. For now, whale activity and Binance flows remain important signals to monitor as BTC tests September lows.
