Bitcoin’s Estimated Leverage on Binance Hits Lowest Level Since June
Data on Bitcoin’s Estimated Leverage Ratio on Binance shows a decline to approximately 0.1976, its lowest level since last June. This decline comes as Bitcoin trades near $76,000, reflecting a notable shift in the behavior of participants in the derivatives market. A decline in the Estimated Leverage Ratio generally indicates that traders are relying less on leverage than in previous periods, either due to the closure of high-risk positions or a reduced appetite for leveraged speculation. From a market-stability perspective, this is a positive signal, as it suggests a reduction in the number of vulnerable positions susceptible to forced liquidation during sharp price swings. Notably, the indicator had remained at higher levels over the past few months, occasionally exceeding 0.22, coinciding with significant movements in Bitcoin’s price. Its current decline below 0.20 signals a clear deleveraging process. From a broader market perspective, this development could be healthy over the medium term, as it reduces the risk of cascading liquidations and makes price action less dependent on highly leveraged positions. However, a decline in leverage alone does not necessarily mean that the uptrend has ended or that a Bitcoin price decline is inevitable. On the contrary, if Bitcoin’s price stabilizes near current levels while leverage remains low, the market may be building a more balanced foundation. This is a trend worth monitoring closely in the coming days.
