Short-Term Bitcoin Holders Return to Profitability

The Short-Term Holder SOPR (Spent Output Profit Ratio) is one of the most important behavioral indicators in the Bitcoin market, as it measures whether short-term investors are selling at a profit or a loss. Based on the data shown in the chart, the indicator is currently hovering around the 1.01 level—a critical threshold that reflects a subtle shift in market sentiment. In previous periods, the indicator fluctuated noticeably around the level of 1. A drop below this level indicates that short-term holders are selling at a loss, often reflecting panic or capitulation. This was clearly observed during the sharp declines in late 2025 and early 2026, when the indicator fell below 0.95, coinciding with strong price corrections. On the other hand, a move back above 1 suggests that this group of investors has started realizing profits on their sales, typically signaling improving confidence and a return of bullish momentum. Currently, with the indicator slightly stabilizing above 1, it can be seen as an early sign that the market is attempting to regain balance after a period of selling pressure. However, the key factor remains whether the indicator can sustain its position above 1 over a longer period. If it holds, this level could turn into dynamic support, increasing the likelihood of a continued uptrend. Conversely, a failure to maintain this level and a drop below 1 again may indicate that short-term profits are being quickly distributed, potentially putting renewed pressure on the price.
