Major Altcoins Under Heavy Pressure Spot Trading Volumes Hit Lowest Levels in December
Altcoins Under Pressure: December's real-time trading volume data for major altcoins show a significant decline, with volumes falling to their lowest levels during 2025. XRP recorded a trading volume of approximately $32 billion on major exchanges, its lowest level since 2025, with $12.3 billion of that occurring on Binance. BNB saw a relatively low trading volume of $13.7 billion on major exchanges, including $12.6 billion on Binance, marking one of its lowest volumes during 2025. Solana, on the other hand, recorded a trading volume of around $43 billion, with $23.1 billion on Binance, representing its lowest real-time trading volume since 2024 on major exchanges. ADA also recorded one of its lowest real-time trading volumes since 2024, with a trading volume of approximately $3.8 billion, including $1.87 billion on Binance. The performance of major altcoins in December reflects a cautious market sentiment. XRP, BNB, Solana, and ADA all experienced a decline in trading volumes, indicating investor hesitation amid prevailing uncertainty. Most traders appear to be adopting a wait-and-see approach, awaiting clarity on Bitcoin's direction before increasing their positions. While Binance maintained relatively high liquidity, the lower volumes on major exchanges suggest a temporary lull in market activity, which could see renewed activity if Bitcoin demonstrates a sustained recovery in the coming weeks.
