Bitcoin inflows to exchanges have reached 580,000 BTC since the beginning of November amid increasing market volatility
Current data on Bitcoin flows to trading platforms indicates that the total inflow since November 1st has reached 580,000 Bitcoins While last October it reached nearly one million Bitcoins This comes amid Bitcoin’s price drop to levels around $90,000. Binance clearly leads the market, recording the highest monthly deposit volume of approximately 163,800 Bitcoins, far surpassing other platforms. Coinbase follows with around 130,000 Bitcoins, while platforms such as Bybit and OKX come next with significantly lower deposit volumes. This ranking shows that the majority of market liquidity is flowing either toward highly liquid platforms (Binance and OKX) or institutional platforms (Coinbase). The surge in deposits specifically on Binance is due to several interconnected factors. Firstly, the platform is considered the primary destination for selling during periods of price volatility. Investors typically transfer their holdings from cold storage to Binance when the potential for profit-taking or exiting high-risk positions increases. Binance also accounts for the largest share of futures trading, prompting traders to send Bitcoin as collateral to open hedging positions during periods of selling pressure. Additionally, the movement reflected in cryptocurrency spending (Spent Output) indicates that some of the previously idle Bitcoin supply is moving to exchanges, suggesting that certain investors are looking to restructure their portfolios or capitalize on the current volatility. Arbitrage activity between exchanges also plays an additional role.
