Binance Volatility Signals: Will U.S. PCE Push Bitcoin Below $107K or Above $122K?
Markets are in a holding pattern. Bitcoin has spent the early week locked at $112–113K, with volatility capped between a $107K downside liquidation pool and a $118–122K upside cluster on Binance data. The setup signals investor caution ahead of a heavy U.S. calendar: Thursday’s Jobless Claims, GDP, and Durable Goods Orders, followed by Friday’s Core PCE and consumer data. On-chain and derivatives positioning confirm the stall. Binance funding rates have drifted toward neutral/negative, showing longs have already de-risked. Liquidation maps mark clearly defined stop zones, implying the first post-data move may be a stop-hunt rather than a trend. On the institutional side, CME futures open interest is stacked in October–November expiries as hedges against macro path risk. Meanwhile, CME options OI is rising in both puts and calls, volatility is being bought, not direction. What does “long gamma” mean? When clients buy both puts and calls, dealers (who typically sell them) end up long gamma. This forces dealers to hedge against moves in both directions, selling into strength and buying into weakness. The effect is that BTC stays pinned until a macro shock is large enough to break the band. hat shock arrives later this week. Hot labor and sticky inflation would likely drag BTC toward the $107K downside zone. Softer prints could trigger a squeeze through $118–122K. Until then, Bitcoin is trading not the news itself, but the setup around the news, and the range will hold until data forces a repricing.
