XRP Absorbs Sell-Off, Establishes New Market Baseline
XRP markets processed a significant liquidity event in October 2024. Exchange inflows peaked at 15 billion, sharply elevated from a previous baseline of 500 million. Simultaneously, exchange outflows saw a corresponding spike with similar metrics, indicating robust demand was present to absorb the selling pressure. Following this event, both metrics established a new, higher equilibrium. Inflows stabilized at 60 million and outflows at 65 million, indicating a permanent increase in market liquidity and a healthy balance between buying and selling pressure. This new stability is supported by organic demand, evidenced by a DEX volume which spiked to 53 million in August 2023 before stabilizing near 1 million, surged again to 60.5 million in November 2024 and settled at 1.6 million, indicating strong off-exchange buying during the inflow event. Although active addresses declined from their December 2024 peak of 108,000, they stabilized near 26,000, above early 2025 levels of 17,500, reflecting sustained network engagement despite reduced volatility.
