BNB Aims for $1,000, Supported by Sidelined Liquidity
[Macro] The leading cryptocurrency bitcoin has been moving sideways in early September, after reaching a new all-time high of $124K in mid-August. Bitcoin still trades at $112,000, however September has been seasonally weak. [BNB’s Weak Correlation with Bitcoin] Over the past 30 days, BNB, or Binance Coin, has been negatively correlated with bitcoin, reaching a coefficient of -0.27. The negative correlation mirrors the growing divergence between the two assets, and BNB outperforming bitcoin. While bitcoin has weakened by -6.1 percent in 30 days, BNB is up by 9.8% within the same timeframe. [BNB Aiming Beyond $1,000] The seasonally negative September will be settled in three weeks, and then we’re entering the fourth quarter (Q4), which has historically been positive. While bitcoin can be expected to appreciate in Q4, BNB will likely follow with amplified gains, riding the broader crypto market's momentum. $1,000 is a short-term target for BNB, and a Q4 all-time high could be within the range of $1,500. [Stablecoin Reserves as Sidelined Liquidity] Binance’s ERC-20 stablecoin reserves have increased from August’s low of $32 billion to the current level of $38B, rising 19% and indicating a significant amount of sidelined liquidity. This unused capital will act as a catalyst for further altcoin rallies in Q4 of 2025 and Q1 of 2026. [The Deflationary Auto-Burn] Like Ethereum after the EIP-1559 upgrade, BNB also has an auto-burn mechanism, reducing total supply, and creating scarcity. The built-in quarterly burns reduce circulating BNB supply, supporting the spot price appreciation. As a contrast, many altcoins lack a similar mechanism, making BNB’s supply dynamics a key driver of its value.
