Long-Term Bitcoin Holder Profitability Weakens Amid Market Caution
Data from the Long-Term Holder SOPR indicator suggests that long-term Bitcoin holders are still operating in a relatively weak profitability zone, coinciding with Bitcoin trading near the $75,000 mark. According to the chart, the indicator reading has fallen to around 0.87, below the pivotal value of 1, reflecting that some long-term investors are moving or selling Bitcoin at a loss compared to their initial purchase price. The data shows that the indicator has been gradually declining in recent months after trading at much higher levels during previous bullish phases. The indicator remaining below 1 for an extended period may reflect a clear sense of caution among major investors, especially after the recent volatility and Bitcoin’s decline from its recent highs. While this reading may appear negative in the short term, history shows that periods of low LTH-SOPR levels are often associated with market consolidation phases or temporary setbacks before momentum is regained. Furthermore, a decline in the indicator does not necessarily signal the end of the long-term uptrend; rather, it may indicate that the market is still rebalancing after periods of selling and psychological pressure resulting from high volatility.
