Binance XRP Reserves Surge 280 Million in Two Days Following $6.34 Billion Hack
Binance's XRP reserves climbed from 2.35 billion on November 3 to 2.63 billion on November 5, a 280 million XRP gain (+11.9%), as large-transfer netflow flipped from -226 million XRP on October 29 to +273 million on November 4. The shift followed Binance's October 29 security breach, when attackers moved 233.46 million XRP from five hot wallets. Binance also reported transfers of roughly 18,270 BTC, 970,500 SOL and 44.2 million OP; approximately $6.34 billion in assets were affected. Binance said customers would not bear the losses: it had earmarked more than 100% of the required funds from its own resources, frozen or intercepted about $2.85 billion and replenished 98% of affected assets by November 4. XRP was already 100% reserve-backed by October 31. A new November 4 Proof of Reserves snapshot expanded coverage from 10 to 44 tokens, with zero-knowledge verification still being generated. Transaction counts also diverged. Binance's XRP deposit share rose from about 44.3% on October 27 to 56.2% on November 5, while withdrawals fell from 55.7% to 43.7%. Across all CEXs, deposits edged up from 45% to 47.5%, while withdrawals fell from 55% to 52.4% but still led. These are transaction shares, not XRP volumes. Meanwhile, Upbit reserves fell from 6.44 billion to 6.41 billion XRP between October 30 and November 5, while Bithumb declined from 1.85 billion to 1.81 billion since October 23. The data points to a Binance-specific post-hack flow shift . Its replenishment efforts aim to shield users, but the source of the latest XRP inflows remains unverified.
