Bitcoin Cycle Indicators Suggest The Correction May Not Be Over
BTC market structure points to a cooling cycle, but not yet to the extreme conditions often seen near major turning points. The Bitcoin Cycle Extremes Index has fallen to 15.8% on its 30-day moving average, placing it in the Watch / Mild Pressure zone. BTC is trading near $80,000, around 46% below its previous all-time high. The drawdown is substantial, yet the index remains far below levels associated with an active or extreme phase. History provides useful context. During the 2021 cycle, the index recorded sharp surges as Bitcoin approached its peak and volatility expanded. Similar spikes appeared during the 2024–2025 advance, reflecting periods of intense market activity. The current reading is different: cycle intensity has eased considerably. This points to reduced pressure, but it does not mean downside risk has disappeared. The Cycle Extreme Oscillator supports this cautious view. Its 30-day moving average is close to the bottom of its historical range and remains well below the 1.0 threshold. In previous cycles, readings above this level appeared during pronounced market moves, including early 2021 and several phases in 2024–2025. No comparable increase is visible now. The oscillator therefore provides little evidence of a decisive cycle-extreme signal. The indicators suggest Bitcoin is in a corrective, subdued phase rather than at a confirmed cycle bottom. A nearly 46% drawdown is significant, but low readings alone cannot confirm that selling pressure is exhausted. Further consolidation, or another downward leg, remains possible before a durable recovery develops. The key signal to watch is a sustained rise in the Cycle Extremes Index toward the Active Phase, accompanied by a recovery in the oscillator. Until then, cooling cycle conditions should not be mistaken for a confirmed market reversal.
