Ethereum Exchange Supply Hits Decade-Old Territory as Binance Reserves Revisit 2020 Levels
Ethereum exchange reserves fell to approximately 14.5 million ETH on November 2, revisiting levels last seen in 2016, while Binance's reserves dropped to 3.08 million ETH, approaching levels observed in late 2020. Across all tracked exchanges, ETH reserves have declined from a peak of roughly 35 million ETH in 2020 to 14.5 million, a reduction of approximately 20.5 million ETH, or 58.6%. Less than 42% of the former peak balance remains. Binance has experienced a particularly notable reversal. Its ETH reserves declined from approximately 4.9 million ETH at their 2025 peak to 3.08 million, representing a reduction of 1.82 million ETH, or 37.1%. Binance now accounts for approximately 21.2% of total exchange reserves, leaving 11.42 million ETH across other tracked platforms. Declining exchange reserves reduce the amount of ETH readily available for spot selling, potentially easing selling pressure and creating more favorable conditions for price appreciation. With fewer coins immediately available on exchanges, sustained or renewed buying demand could have a stronger upward impact on prices.
