Binance 7-Day BTC Inflows Drop to 32,642 BTC, Among the Lowest of the Past Year

On October 5, 7-day BTC inflows to Binance totaled 32,642 BTC, the 11th percentile of the past year. The same day, Binance's Exchange Whale Ratio (7-day average) rose to 0.515, its highest since August 2026. BTC closed at $85,726, up 7.4% over 30 days and 31.3% below its one-year high. Total deposits are low, so part of the rise in the whale share may come from fewer small deposits rather than more whale activity. There is no CPI report this week. The minutes of the Fed's September meeting come out on October 7. One candidate explanation, unverified: large holders may be moving BTC to Binance as collateral for derivatives trades ahead of the minutes. What the models say: We trained a Logistic Regression model on BTC price and Binance whale data. It estimates a 39% chance that BTC makes a clear move over the next three weeks, slightly above the usual 33%. In past tests, a clear trend followed its highest readings about 44% of the time and its lowest readings about 21% of the time. A second model reads "sideways," with a 43% chance of a trend. That model is an ensemble of LightGBM, HistGradientBoosting, Random Forest and Logistic Regression. Its sideways calls were right about 7 times out of 10. Thin inflows, a high whale share and trend odds close to normal have, in the past, come before range-bound weeks more often than sharp moves. For now, the clearest reading is that whales make up most of a shrinking flow into Binance, and both models lean toward sideways trading rather than a breakout.
