XRP Taker Buy/Sell Ratio Shows Continued Selling Pressure
The current reading of the Taker Buy/Sell Ratio indicates a continued bias toward selling activity, with the indicator remaining below the neutral level of 1. This reflects selling pressure in the XRP market; however, the intensity of this pressure varies across exchanges, suggesting that selling activity is not uniform throughout the market. On Binance, the ratio stood at approximately 0.94, meaning that the volume of sell orders executed by takers exceeded the buy volume during the observed period. This indicates relative selling pressure in the platform’s perpetual futures market, although the deviation from the neutral level of 1 remains limited. In contrast, the ratio on OKX reached approximately 0.79, reflecting a more pronounced dominance of sell volume over buy volume. This discrepancy suggests that trader activity on OKX was more heavily skewed toward selling compared with Binance during the same timeframe. On Bybit, the ratio reached 1.00, indicating a near balance between buy and sell volumes executed by takers. These differences demonstrate that trader behavior is not identical across exchanges, even when trading the same asset at the same time. The primary reasons for this include variations in trader composition, liquidity, trading volumes, and order book depth across exchanges, as well as differences in the distribution of activity among retail, institutional, and leveraged traders. Consequently, stronger selling pressure may emerge on one exchange while the market remains closer to equilibrium on another.
