Ethereum Breakout Appears to Be Approaching

Exchange Netflow remains in positive territory. The latest reading shows a Netflow of +12,938 ETH, meaning more ETH is flowing into Binance than leaving it. This indicates that large investors are moving their holdings onto the exchange. Assets transferred to exchanges always represent a potential selling risk. The fact that Netflow has remained above zero over the past few weeks suggests that selling pressure has not fully subsided. From a price perspective, this is a bearish signal. Meanwhile, Open Interest (OI) is rising again, increasing by approximately 9.9% over the last day. This indicates fresh capital is entering the futures market and new positions are being opened. In other words, activity in the derivatives market is picking up. However, the spot market does not appear to be showing the same strength. When Netflow remains positive while Open Interest increases, it suggests that more ETH is being moved onto exchanges while leverage in the futures market continues to build. This could indicate that some market participants are favoring short positions over spot exposure. The GMMA bands have also converged significantly. This typically signals weakening trend momentum and suggests that a sharp breakout could be approaching. Overall, these indicators point to a short term bearish outlook. The current market structure suggests that upside attempts may continue to face selling pressure while volatility is likely to increase. Until Exchange Netflow turns negative and the GMMA bands begin to expand upward again, it may be too early to call for a sustained bullish trend.
