BTC On-Chain Update: Exchange Inflows Rise, Leverage Cools
Today’s BTC on-chain flow shows increased short-term exchange inflow risk, while derivatives leverage appears closer to neutral recovery than overheating. On April 27, 2026, Exchange Netflow recorded +9,533 BTC, the largest net inflow in the recent 32-day data. Although the previous 7-day total still shows a net outflow of around -4,882 BTC, today’s single-day inflow was strong enough to raise the possibility of short-term selling pressure or position adjustment. Open Interest stands at approximately $25.32B, down about $200M from the previous day. Since it has declined from the April 22 high of around $27.56B, this looks more like leverage cooling after a peak rather than aggressive leverage buildup. Funding Rate turned positive today at +0.002981, compared with -0.010995 the previous day. However, the recent 7-day average remains negative at -0.00824, so this appears closer to normalization from excessive short positioning rather than long-side overheating. As a supplementary valuation indicator, the MVRV Ratio was 1.453 as of April 26, above both the recent 7-day average of 1.430 and the 30-day average of 1.337. This suggests that profitability is gradually recovering, but it is not high enough to be viewed as a cycle-level overheating signal. The key takeaway today is that strong exchange inflow appeared without clear leverage overheating. From a spot market perspective, potential short-term selling pressure should be monitored, but derivatives data does not confirm aggressive long-side overheating. Therefore, this looks more like a defensive observation zone rather than a point for chasing upside. Tomorrow, the first thing to watch is whether Exchange Netflow turns back to outflow or if today’s large inflow repeats. At the same time, it will be important to monitor whether Funding overheats in positive territory, whether Open Interest quickly recovers above $26B, and whether the MVRV increase continues alongside price recovery.
