Binance Attracts $6B in Stablecoins across March and April
April was particularly turbulent due to rising tensions between the United States and Iran, with several episodes of escalation adding further uncertainty to markets. Concerns were mainly centered around the potential impact on energy prices, reviving fears of a return in inflation, a scenario that is generally unfavorable for risk assets. Despite this backdrop, April marks a clear shift in trend when it comes to stablecoin inflows. After an initial sign of improvement in March, April recorded nearly $3.5B in net stablecoin inflows to Binance. Over the past two months, close to $6B in potential liquidity has therefore moved onto the platform. This stands in sharp contrast to the previous period, which was marked by roughly $7.6B in net outflows. When inflows exceed outflows on a major exchange, it suggests that part of the market is beginning to reposition in order to participate in the gradual recovery that has been underway for nearly two months. If this trend continues, it could keep supporting a market that appears to be turning more constructive in the short term.
