Aave exchange reserves jump to 2.23M AAVE as sentiment weakens

Aave has recently faced several structural challenges, pushing the protocol into a negative spiral that led it to lose the important psychological threshold of $100 during March. Several internal disagreements followed a sequence of events within the protocol, including the departure of key contributors such as BGD Labs, and more recently Chaos Labs. In this context, sentiment surrounding Aave is currently rather negative, which appears to be pushing some investors to either capitulate or secure the remaining profits they still have. A shift in trend can be observed by analyzing Aave reserves across exchanges. These reserves have increased since early February, rising from 2.07 million to 2.23 million AAVE, with 1.63 million held on Binance alone. Over the same period, reserves on Binance increased from 1.57 million to 1.63 million AAVE. This represents a clear change in trend, as Aave exchange reserves have now moved back above their 90-day moving average, effectively ending the declining reserve trend that had been in place since April 2025. This situation suggests that more AAVE tokens are currently being sent to exchanges, which could translate into increased selling pressure in the short term. It is also important to note that this dynamic is unfolding in a broader market environment that remains unfavorable for holding altcoins.
