Open interest supports the stability of Ethereum’s uptrend
Data from the ETH Open Interest 30D (Change of ETH) indicator reveals clear shifts in the structure of open positions within the Ethereum derivatives market in recent periods, reflecting a notable change in trader behavior across various platforms. According to the latest data, significant variations in open interest across platforms are evident. Binance saw an increase of approximately 11,400 ETH, indicating continued liquidity inflows despite market fluctuations. Bybit also recorded a notable rise of around 2.51 million ETH, reinforcing the idea of liquidity redistribution rather than a complete outflow. On the other hand, Bitfinex, Kraken, and Gate.io were among the weakest-performing platforms, experiencing limited or negative changes. Bitfinex saw a decrease of approximately 35,700 ETH, Kraken around 4,300 ETH, while Gate.io recorded relatively limited movement compared to other platforms. These figures reflect weaker activity or a reduced risk appetite on these exchanges. Structurally, this divergence reflects a state of caution and repositioning within the market, with some traders closing positions to reduce risk, while others are opening new positions on specific platforms continued activity on major platforms, compared to declines on others, indicates a market in transition, which may precede strong price movements driven by liquidity redistribution and shifting trading strategies. This trend in open interest indicates sustained liquidity inflows into the derivatives market, supporting the stability of Ethereum’s uptrend rather than indicating a temporary move. Maintaining elevated or rising open interest suggests trader confidence and a willingness to hold positions, reinforcing the persistence of bullish momentum in the market.
