Taker Buy Sell Ratio signals a potential turning point for ETH
The analysis of the Taker Buy Sell Ratio on Binance highlights a gradual shift in the structure of the derivatives market on Ethereum. As the asset was approaching a new ATH, selling pressure in the futures market intensified concurrently. This phase was reflected in a ratio that remained persistently below its equilibrium threshold of 1. During this period, the monthly Taker Buy Sell Ratio observed on Binance declined to 0.95, with an even more pronounced downside deviation on the weekly average, which fell to 0.92. This indicator is effective for assessing directional dominance between market buy and sell orders executed on futures contracts. A ratio above 1 indicates buyer dominance, while a ratio below 1 suggests that selling aggressiveness is prevailing within transactional flows. In a context where derivatives markets now account for nearly $65B in volume and play a leading role in price discovery, analyzing these flows becomes critical to understanding underlying market dynamics. More recently, the dynamics observed in ETH futures have begun to show signs of improvement. On Binance, the weekly ratio has been hovering around the neutral threshold for the past two weeks. This shift is particularly notable as it diverges from ETH price action, which remains in a corrective phase. Daily spikes above 1.12 have even been recorded, reflecting episodes of aggressive market buying. This development is gradually contributing to a recovery in the monthly average, which now stands around 0.99. Although this configuration still requires confirmation, it constitutes a constructive signal. A sustained move above 1 would mark a transition toward buyer dominance, potentially supporting a more favorable market dynamic for ETH in the short to medium term.
