XRP Back at Open Interest Lows Before a Potential Rally. A New ATH Could Be Coming
Open Interest (OI) is currently at the same low level as in May 2025, while the price holds around $2.5 much higher than during the previous OI dip. This indicates that XRP remains in strong hands, but derivatives market participation has weakened, showing stronger demand in the spot market. In May 2025, after OI bottomed, a surge in trading volume drove the price up to $3.5. Now, OI has returned to the same dip level, suggesting that if liquidity re-enters, XRP could start another rally. Such deep OI resets usually mean either leverage has been flushed out, creating room for a new uptrend, or market interest has shifted toward spot accumulation. Since the price still holds high, the first scenario appears more likely. The $2.20–$2.40 range acts as a short term buy zone, keeping the uptrend intact as long as it holds. Key supports lie at $1.85, the structural base, and $0.60–$0.70, the major psychological floor overlapping with previous OI lows. On the upside, the first resistance sits at $2.80–$3.00, where a breakout would strengthen bullish momentum. The next key barrier is $3.30–$3.50 a breakout here, supported by rising OI, could trigger a new price discovery phase toward $4.20–$4.50. The fact that price remains elevated while OI is low increases the probability of trapped short positions. If OI starts to climb from this dip, even a moderate recovery could drive a rapid upward expansion. A consistent OI increase of around 25% over several days would confirm the start of a new move. XRP currently shows a cleaned-up derivatives structure with firm spot strength a setup often seen at the beginning of a new trend phase. If OI recovers within the next one to two weeks, XRP could first target the $3.0–$3.5 range, and if momentum continues, extend the rally toward $4.5.
