Ethereum’s Downside Liquidity Fully Absorbed — A Short Squeeze May Be Next

Ethereum is approaching a pivotal setup where multiple on-chain indicators align toward a potential squeeze higher. CryptoQuant (@MAC_D46035) data shows that liquidation activity has cooled significantly after months of turbulence. Both long and short positions have been flushed out, but importantly, the clusters of downside liquidations have already been absorbed. This leaves the market with far fewer liquidation targets below the current price, while sizable clusters remain above. In such conditions, even a modest upward move can trigger a cascade of short liquidations, fueling rapid acceleration. At the same time, the Taker Buy/Sell Ratio hovers just below 1.0, reflecting persistent selling pressure from aggressive takers. Yet history shows that when this metric bottoms and reverses, Ethereum often stages strong rebounds. The combination of exhausted downside liquidity and a stretched sell imbalance points to a fragile equilibrium that could easily snap upward. In short, the ETH market is primed: shorts are heavily positioned, the sell-side has largely played out, and the remaining liquidity map favors a potential squeeze. Traders should prepare for sharp volatility — a short squeeze could ignite faster than expected. Charts via @MAC_D46035
