Recovery of the Bitcoin Market: When Will the Market Return to Active Growth?
Following the recent decline in Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency market is facing serious challenges. There are several key factors affecting the current situation. After the decline, the supply of short-term Bitcoin holders (STH) decreased by 400,000 BTC, which placed significant pressure on this cohort. As a result, many of them found themselves "underwater". One of the most noticeable indicators reflecting market volatility is the BTC Velocity metric. This metric demonstrates the activity of cryptocurrency circulation within the network and can serve as an indicator of the level of volatility in the market. At the beginning of this year, the BTC Velocity metric dropped to its minimum level, indicating extremely low volatility and insufficient market participant activity. Taking into account these two factors, as well as the fact that the STH cohort has traditionally been the primary player creating volatility in the BTC market, recovery after this drop will require more time than usual and may take an indefinite period.
