Origin Protocol: Exchange Inflow (Total)

Chart Description

Exchange Inflow (Total) measures the total amount of a crypto asset transferred into exchange wallets within a given time period, capturing the aggregate movement of coins from self-custody or external wallets onto trading platforms.

Rising inflows indicate that more coins are being deposited onto exchanges - historically a bearish signal for spot markets, as assets moving to exchanges are more likely to be sold than held. Sustained high inflow periods have frequently preceded or coincided with increased selling pressure and short-term price weakness.

For stablecoin inflows, the signal reverses. Rising values indicate capital entering exchanges in preparation for buying. For derivative exchanges, elevated inflows reflect increasing collateral deposits for leveraged positions, pointing to potential volatility without a clear directional bias.
