Origin Protocol: Active Receiving Addresses

Chart Description

Active Receiving Addresses measures the total number of unique on-chain addresses that received transactions within a given period, isolating the demand side of network activity to capture the breadth of participants actively accumulating or receiving coins rather than initiating movements.

A rising count indicates that more distinct addresses are receiving on-chain transactions - reflecting growing distribution of coins across the network, whether through purchases, withdrawals from exchanges, peer-to-peer transfers, or mining rewards. Because receiving activity represents the destination of on-chain flows, this metric complements Active Sending Addresses by revealing how broadly capital and coins are being dispersed across the network at any given time.

Divergences between sending and receiving address counts can be particularly informative - a rising receiving count alongside stable or declining sending addresses may indicate accumulation concentrated among a growing number of new or reactivated holders, while both metrics rising in tandem suggests broad-based network activity expansion. Tracked alongside exchange outflow addresses and active sending addresses, this metric provides a more complete picture of on-chain distribution patterns and network participation depth.
