Bitcoin: Satoshi-era Miner Balance and Netflows
Chart Description
This metric tracks the holdings and daily net movement of wallets belonging to Bitcoin's earliest miners, from 2009 to 2012, excluding the Patoshi set.
These coins have been dormant for over a decade, so any movement is a notable event. Outflows raise the possibility of supply reaching the market; inflows are rare and typically reflect consolidation rather than accumulation.
Movement alone is not a sell signal. Where the coins go matters — an exchange destination implies near-term supply, while a newly created address is ambiguous and warrants tracing the next hop.
API — /v2/community/bitcoin-satoshi-era-miner returns balance and netflow in both BTC and USD, along with active address counts.
