Basic Attention Token: Exchange Reserve

Chart Description

Exchange Reserve tracks the total amount of a crypto asset held across exchange wallets at any given time, serving as one of the most direct on-chain indicators of available sell-side supply on the market.

When Exchange Reserve rises, more coins are sitting on exchanges - historically associated with increased selling pressure and downward price movement. A sustained decline signals coins moving to self-custody, reducing available supply and reflecting longer-term holding behavior.

For stablecoin reserves, the inverse applies. A rising reserve indicates accumulating buying power on exchanges. For derivative exchanges, reserve levels reflect collateral for both long and short positions - a rise signals potential volatility rather than a directional bias.
