Ankr: Exchange Outflow (Top10)

Chart Description

Exchange Outflow (Top 10) tracks the combined volume of the ten largest outflow transactions from exchanges within a given period, isolating large-scale withdrawal activity from routine outflows and highlighting when major holders are moving significant amounts off-platform.

When this metric spikes, it indicates that whales or institutional participants are withdrawing large amounts in concentrated transactions - typically into cold storage or self-custody. This behavior reduces available sell-side supply on exchanges and is historically associated with accumulation and decreasing selling pressure. Like its inflow counterpart, the Top 10 filter removes noise from high-frequency small withdrawals, making sudden spikes a more reliable signal of conviction-driven behavior.

Sustained elevated Top 10 outflow, particularly when diverging from total outflow trends, can be an early indicator of supply tightening before a price move.
